Paris & London: our experience at the Learning Technologies fairs

Our experience at the Learning Technologies fairs in Paris and London

The pressure is off, all the people we met are being followed up and the projects in preparation are looking bright… It is time for us to tell you about our participation at Learning Technologies Paris and then, a week later, Learning Technologies London.

Digital learning: its unstoppable rise at Learning Technologies Paris

We were spoiled at our second year at Learning Technologies Paris: more visitors than ever and more discussions about the digitalisation of live training.

Our partners were also present to promote our synergies still further: 360Learning, Comundi, My Virtual Classroom, Dokeos, Livesession, Xperteam… We noted the increased presence of LMS-type platforms, but also agencies creating educational content.

Here is a quick overview of the types of contacts our team met at our stand:

Laurent Souloumiac at Learning Technologies

We represented EdTech France at a live session, presenting our innovation in virtual classrooms. Despite the inconvenient time of day, we were lucky that the room filled up quickly. We were delighted at the number of questions and the high level of very pragmatic discussion.

Features that attracted the most attention:

  • The SaaS solution, with no installation, using recent high-performance technologies – we published a version based on HTML5 and WebRTC, with no Flash, in summer 2019
  • The ability to share and manipulate any kind of content, while avoiding screen sharing as far as possible for better quality
  • French company complying with the GDPR

Learning Technologies London: the place to be

Glowbl at Learning Technologies London

London? A first for Glowbl! The signs were good and all our preparatory work led us to think we would be a good fit for Learning Technologies London, an important, unmissable event in the field of digital learning. Welcoming 200 exhibitors and 8,500 visitors, the fair surprised us and filled us with enthusiasm.

The UK is definitely a leading country in the sector, and businesses are very well versed in its practices and innovations. The virtual classroom is a well-established educational method and our experience meant that visitors were constantly thronging our stand, and even queuing, to discover how Glowbl provides a real response to the difficulties encountered with traditional tools.

The elements that most impressed our contacts:

  • The global experience that restores the human touch in the virtual classroom
  • The organisation of working subgroups

We met over a hundred executives and training/e-learning managers, mostly from major companies or larger SMEs. Our discussions focused on concrete solutions adapted to their needs. Our presence was noticed, because we were almost the only company to represent a solution specialising in virtual classrooms. Many of our neighbours were offering global or LMS platforms.

In conclusion, we already have our stand booked for Learning Technologies Paris and London 2021!
