As new CEO, Laurent Souloumiac dedicates to the startup his long experience in the digital domain and his knowledge of the ecosystem.
Lyon, 5th October 2016 – Created by Mathieu Labey in Lyon, Glowbl was founded in 2011 with the ambition to make collaborative group video conferences more human and to share contents in real time. The company develops a platform that is integrated in social networks, commercialized in particular among SMEs and VSEs, key accounts, schools and universities and training organizations. The appointment as CEO brings expertise to the Glowbl team in order to ensure the company’s financing, business development and company growth.
By joining Glowbl in April 2016, Laurent Souloumiac reinforces the management and succeeds Mathieu Labey at a key moment for the company. Indeed, Allianz France, leading insurance company, has chosen Glowbl in 2015 for its 10,000 collaborators to communicate internally and externally. Glowbl has also been chosen by France Université Numérique (France Digital University – FUN) to hold its interactive MOOCs. With his experience in big groups, Laurent brings expertise in business development and the digital domain to Glowbl. He is in charge of accelerating the company’s commercial dynamic, in particular for use in companies: online meetings, remote trainings, massive communications…

An ambitious mission
“It’s with great pleasure that I’m joining Glowbl that has created a unique tool to collaborate on the Internet. This new experience of realtime collaboration could help each one of us in everyday life, in enterprise or even at home. As CEO, my first mission is to accelerate commercial development but also to find the necessary financial means to achieve this”, says Laurent Souloumiac.
From now on, the management team consists of Xavier Léron, Administrative and Financial Director, and Laurent Souloumiac, CEO, under the presidency of Olivier Soula.
19 years of digital experience
Holding an engineer degree from French Ecole Polytechnique, Laurent Souloumiac started his professional career in the telecommunications sector as Manager for the Minitel Network at France Telecom. Afterwards he became Technical and Community Link Operations Manager at US West in Denver, USA.
At France Telecom Laurent successively held the positions of Digital Cable and Satellite Television Project Manager, Marketing Director for Directories, then Founder and Director of Voila at Wanadoo.
He continued his career at Socpresse as Delegated Director of Multimedia Activities before he became CEO of France Interactive Televisions who produces all kind of interactive contents for the France Television group and hold this position for more than 9 years.
In September 2011 he took the lead of the Tourism and Truck product line at Group Michelin.
Glowbl is a French startup, founded in 2011. The company offers communication and collaboration solutions in real time and is cloud based.
